Composer

In addition to her work as a drummer, Cat is also a composer working across contemporary theatre, instrumental solo music, band writing, and sync-focused composition. Her music is rooted in storytelling through sound, with a strong focus on instrumental writing and an evolving relationship with music technology. Writing to brief is central to her practice, and she thrives on translating image, narrative, and emotion into original music.

During the pandemic, Cat focused on developing her solo compositional voice, producing a body of instrumental work supported by Help Musicians through the Do It Differently award and by Sage Gateshead as part of their Summer Studios funding. This period marked a significant expansion of her sonic palette and production approach.

Over the past six years, Cat has composed and performed music for a range of contemporary theatre productions. Her most recent score was for Arlington, produced by Shotput Theatre and staged at the Traverse Theatre and Tron Theatre in November 2025, receiving widespread critical acclaim.

Her other work for with Shotput Theatre includes composing the music for the dance-theatre production Totentanz and the soundtrack for the narrative podcast The Slow Dance.

Alongside her solo and theatre work, Cat has co-written music for bands across contrasting genres, including the electronic debut album Bury Everything by Stillhound and the alternative rock/pop album Babes Never Die by Honeyblood.

Cat continues to develop her compositional work across theatre, sync, and instrumental projects and is available for commissions, collaborations, and bespoke writing projects.
