Cat Myers | Composer

In addition to being a drummer, I’m also a composer working across contemporary theatre, instrumental music and sync-focused composition. My work places an emphasis on expressive instrumental writing, and I enjoy responding to a brief with music that reflects narrative, emotion and atmosphere.

Over the past seven years, I’ve developed a body of solo work, supported by Help Musicians through the Do It Differently award and by Sage Gateshead as part of their Summer Studios funding. This period of exploration broadened my sonic palette and informed a more expansive approach to composition and production.

I’ve composed for a range of contemporary theatre productions. Most recently, I wrote the score for Arlington, produced by Shotput Theatre and staged at the Traverse Theatre and Tron Theatre in November 2025, where it received widespread critical acclaim.

Other work with Shotput includes the music for the dance-theatre production Totentanz and the soundtrack for the narrative podcast The Slow Dance.

Alongside my solo and theatre work, I’ve co-written music for bands across contrasting genres, including the electronic debut album Bury Everything by Stillhound and the alternative rock/pop album Babes Never Die by Honeyblood.

Between tours I continue my compositional practice across theatre, sync, instrumental and collaborative projects, and I’m available for commissions, collaborations and bespoke writing work.
